There are times in a breeder´s life when things happen that you would not wish on your worst enemy. These are the times when a much loved cat no longer feels happy within her cat community, usually as a result of the stress of competition or dislikes among the cats.

It doesn´t matter how many cats there are living in a cattery, sometimes it  takes just one unhappy  animal to cause "cat"-astrophe.

Then the only realistic solution is to try and find a new home with a caring human family. We too have had to part with some dear cat companions through the years. Some of the following cats are living with us - some of them are living with friends.

Sparrow's Nightmare Amethyst (F4), born 17.09.2006, blue torbie mackerel,

Amy was born in our cattery - with her all our dreams of a little blue torbie Emylee-daughter came true! She is - like her mother - a ver
y enchanting girl.

Sparrow's Nightmare Shivaree (F5), born 15th October 2004, black classic tabby w/white

"Ivy"
- second nickname "Pom Bear" was born in our cattery. She is a solidly built and muscular cat with good bone structure. She enriches our days with her crazy ideas and habits - she is a truly exceptional and unique lady and we are very happy that we kept her as a breeder. She had only one litter:

and has been a devoted, model mother.

We had spayed Ivy because she has a cyst (but not PKD) in her left kidney. Both, she and her parents have been certified PKD-free by Dr Lüerssen. We discovered the cyst in December 2006 during a scan she had whilst suffering from a severe bladder infection. Although our vet has stated we could have let her have more litters, we made our decision to spay her in the best interests of her health and well-being. We are sure that Ivy will be a loving babysitter and playmate for the next generations of Sparrow's Nightmares and we are looking forward to many years of company with a hopefully healthy cat.

Helkenberg Godiva, born 7th August 2002, silver classic torbie w/white (carries dilute and  solid)

Godiva - our  fairylike lady. She is a large cat with high legs, long body, a long tail and heavy bones - her weight: 5.5 kg.  She was a wonderful and playful mother, unfortunately her litters kept getting bigger and bigger - last and third litter: 10 babies:

(one of the babies we had to put to sleep one day after birth). So we decided to have her spayed. Godiva was very unhappy as spayed cat in our crew, so she moved to Irmgard, Juergen and their wonderful neutered male Chakotay. Chakotay is Godiva's second love (after our first male "Rico") and she lives now a happy life as spoiled pet - thank you, Irmtraud and Juergen!

Sparrow's Nightmare Momo, born 20.08.2003, silver classic torbie w/white

Momo is a very affectionate and funny girl, she is a large cat with high legs, long body and a very long tail - her weight: 5.6 kg. 2004 she unfortunately became pregnant before we could start the tests.

Momo was a wonderful and playful mom. She was tested once she had her babies - results:

We could have mated her once more to a male with good hips - but she was very "bossy" in the crew  - so we had her spayed. Momo now lives with Erika, Hans and neutered male Bobbit in Soltau.

Sparrow's Nightmare Sunset Glow (F5), born 20.08.2004, black classic torbie w/white

"Sunny" - our darling, we are happy that we have kept this wonderful girl. She has a long body on high legs and a very long tail. At the age of 1,5 years Sunny got a pyometra - we didn't want to take the risk of losing her and had her spayed. We are looking forward to many happy years of company with a hopefully healthy cat.
